B) DIRECTIONS FOR INSPIRATION

Inspiration to diagram the highlights of the reading.

Download Inspiration for a free 30 day trial.


Email a screen capture of your Inspiration project as an attachment to the class Google Groups
The best way to share your Inspiration project is to perform a screen capture on your final project.
If you send the Inspiration page in the format of an Inspiration project, some people may not be able to view it.
If you don't know how to perform a screen capture, Google it! You may need to take 2 screen shots depending on the size of your diagram.

C) DIRECTIONS FOR GOOGLE GRADEBOOK- This assignment is ONLY for teacher who do not already use a digital gradebook.
You will need to have at least 10 students in your gradebook, one semester of grades and attendence.
The names and numbers can be made up.
You need to change all of the projects, names & numbers.
Delete a row and add a column.
Explore what the program has to offer.
Share your Google GradeBook with the Instructor.
Send an email to the instructor to let her know what you think of the program and if you might use it in the future.

D) DIRECTIONS FOR CREATING AN ONLINE BOOK

Shutterfly
- Online Digital Book: Uploading, design and print using Internet software.

1. Sign up with Shutterfly.com follow the instructions on the site. MAKE SURE TO USE YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT THAT IS A PART OF THE CLASS GOOGLE GROUP!!!

2. Upload (at the least) 20 digital images. IF YOU DO NOT USE YOUR OWN PHOTOS, YOU MUST CITE YOUR SOURCES!!!

4. Layout and design a 20 page story with images & text. You need to create a story or an original poem that goes with your photos for full credit. Captions are not a story.

5. Make sure to SAVE your book as you go.

6. There is an actual share button in Shutterfly at the top left. Click and share it with the Class via Google Groups

BONUS: Embed your book in your Blog.

Week #4 Online Instruction - WebQuest & Classroom Wikis

You have 2 options for a Final Project:

A) Create a fully developed Classroom Wiki using Google Sites.

Remember that you access Google Sites, via your GMail and then go to More>Even More and then look for "Sites"

You will need to design the following pages:

1. Intro page to Online Classroom (Welcome users and give a general descriptioin of your class)
2. Classroom Wiki Rules & Expectations for students. Don't forget to remind students of the consequences when the rules are broken.
3. Homework Page (3 entries)
4. BONUS: Classroom Gallery (10 Photos)
5. BONUS: Discussions: (3 prompts for student discussions)
6. Parents' Page (3 linked documents for parents to download)
7. Classroom Calendar (10 entries on the Google Calendar)
8. Projects Page (Embed both of your Google Presentations (A)Postcard Project (B)Group Presentation)
9. Suggested Readings for Students (5 links to books (you can use Amazon or any online bookstore)
10. Standards Page: Define which standards will you be addressing throughout the year by correlating with dates or at least the month of study.
      Make sure to include links to NETS & California State Content Standards.
11. Inivte the instructor to become a member of your Wiki, so that she can review your site.

B) Create a WebQuest using Google Presentation (What we used for the Postcard Project). Share (as a colaborator) your finished project with the Instructor.
You will need to use at least 8 slides in Presentation. (Title, Intro, Task, Process, Evaluation, Concusion, Standards & Resources)

Wether you use Presentation or QuestGarden, you will need to go To: WEBQUEST INSTRUCTIONS IN 10 STEPS

If you would like to use QuestGarden to create your WebQuest, do at your own risk! This online program sometimes has problems, but if it works, it is wonderful!

GOOGLE DOCUMENTS PRESENTATION
1. You must follow the outline of the WebQuest sections, which can be found at WebQuest Templates
2. Complete all pages (Student & Standards Pages - Bonus: Teacher Pages)
3. IMPORTANT: Make sure to complete the Standards Page, which can be found in the Teacher Section.
4. Make sure to include at least 5 iamges and cite your sources.
5. You can also publish your Presentation on the Web. However, you are only required to "share" it with the instructor.
6. Make sure to also share it with the class via the Google Group as a "viewer."

1. Go to: QuestGarden Click on "About" Quest Garden and read. Subcribe to QuestGarden (30-day free trial).

    Share your WebQuest with the Class Google Group as a "viewer."
    Share your WebQuest with the Instructor as a Collaborator/Editor.

3. Complete Final Blog Entry.
