What I learned was how to draw on a computer. I’m not going to lie, it was hard. Mostly, I like pastel drawing because she told us to use only three colors.

I have learned new techniques on how to draw different things. The materials I use are pencils, color pencils, and erasers. Art is for fun for me because it’s my way of showing my feelings.

The thing I learned was volume. My favorite art work that I like to do is sculpture because I like to make lots of things. The colors that I really like are gold and silver. I kind of like red, blue, green, gray, and black. Another thing I learned is how to do a paper manipulation. I love doing art. The first thing I learned on my own was drawing.

When I used the camera because I got to take pictures I really like it. When I took a picture of the “NO PARKING” sign and when I took a picture of a Corvette FT it was really cool! It was fun!

My favorite art that I did was the drawing of my cat. It shows exactly what he did. He would go into the garden and play with the stray cats. Then he would play with me and my brother Tommy. I loved that cat.

I learned that long time ago they had art. Those people used pastels and lots of dots. We also learned about other artists who drew with other things.

I learned about how to use the cameras it was fun. I learned patterns. Patterns are things that are repeated but one after another. It was fun taking pictures. I really liked it. Thank you Fernando.

When I used Adobe Photoshop, I learned that it was hard because I didn’t know what to draw and how to get on Adobe Photoshop. It was also hard because on one of the computers had a very small box to draw in so I couldn’t draw, I could only put one color in the box.

CHARLENE While I was with Ms. Calica we learned many things with her. I learned about different artists like Monet, Van Gough, etc. We used new materials last week and they were water-colors.

What I learned about patterns is that patterns have a lot to do with color. It was very fun to do something with patterns. Taking pictures with patterns was fun because we had to find a place or a thing that is a pattern.

What I learned in art class with Ms. Calica is that I got frustrated with the computer because it undid what I made. I also learned about different lines like diagonal and horizontal lines. And I almost forgot, that I learned about Van Gogh too.

Some days ago we were doing sculptures out of plaster (which is like soup). The other thing I liked to do was when we used water colors.

What I learned in art was when I took pictures about patterns. It was fun in art because I get to discover new stuff. Also art on the iinternet is good because you learn much stuff.

What I learned was new shapes. I never knew how many shapes there were. I had fun learning different techniques, like how to draw so easy. I learn really fast because Ms. Calica teaches art really that I hear clearly and teaches it that I could do it. The other thing I learned is colors because if you mix the colors it makes a better color.

Teaching the fifth graders how to use the digital cameras was really fun. We had fun taking pictures out on the school playground. The bad things about having to teach the fifth graders how to use the digital cameras was having to find the cameras, checking if they are charged, and finding some batteries.

I have learned to draw with dots, lines, colors, shapes, form, and texture. I have also learned to use the whole page to draw even bigger than I used too. Because it would be even more beautiful then it was already. And Ms. Calica showed me how to have fun with shapes and pastels. That is what I learned to do with Ms. Calica in art class and even more things than that. I would like to be an artist that draws a lot of things. Especially that draws animals and people. Last year I wanted to be an artist that only drew flowers and I used to put a paper on top of the regular picture that they had in the book and trace it. But now I draw looking at the thing but not tracing them. And I also want to be an artist that sits in a chair looking out to the world and drawing what I see out there.

When I used pastels I learned that making drawings with pastels was messy! It was also fun and easy. I would rather make drawings with colored pencils’. Color pencils break really fast and pastels don’t break so easily.

I had learned that when you do a drawing it is going to look like something and it will look so beautiful. Next, that when you put two colors together it will look like a new color.

What I have learned was that you can draw anything you want and if people say that’s ugly and you feel bad you can make it pretty and cool. The only way I like to draw is when we have free draw. The thing I love to do in art class with Ms. Calica is when you show us new stuff like colors and when you draw stuff.

What I have learned is that art is a little harder than I thought. I learned how to draw more things other than just flowers.

While we had art class with Ms. Calica, I learned many things like value. I didn’t know what value was. Now I know what it is. At first I thought it was a math kind of value but I learned there’s different kinds of value. The one I learned was art kind of value.

During the period with Ms. Calica, I have learned about lines, color, value, shape, form, and texture. Lines, I learned that lines are fun to explore with. Color I learned about warm and cool colors. Value is important because it gives the drawing more life. Form is very important because we would be drawing lines only for art. Shapes, if you know your shapes it is easier to draw like faces.

I know I am very good in art and that it is very likely for me to get a job as an artist in realistic art, cartoon, and maybe an illustrator. I have liked art for as long as I can remember and I was good at it. My mom, teachers, and family would compliment my art and me. I would really like to be a realistic artist. I know I will get better and my dream can come true.

The art that I liked the most was all of our artwork. I especially like the pastels and oil pastels art work. With the pastels I liked the best the drawings with the warm colored flowers. This is what I liked best. I wish I were in 4 th grade to learn more with you.

I’ve always loved my artwork. My best on yet was my nicho. I love it because I remember my cute, beautiful, adorable puppy. When he died he was only 7 months. I loved him so much. I love him even though he’s dead. I love doing art and in Middle school, I hope I get a “cool” art teacher like Ms. Calica. I appreciate her even if she’s sometimes cranky. But I still like her teaching.

Mixing colors was very fun to do because you get to experience different colors. But most of all what I really learned was to have fun with what we are doing.

I learned that there are patterns everywhere. I learned that if you move a camera while taking a picture it will be blurry. I also learned that sharing a camera is hard!

I got a box of shoes. Then I put paper around the box. After that I put when he died and what he worked at. Finally, I put some flowers in the box and the picture of my dad.

I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop. I really enjoyed it because you could just draw what ever is on your mind. I really liked the stamps in Adobe Photoshop. For using the bucket, I pressed different colors. If I pressed different colors the edges turned white and it got lighter. It was cool. Last year we all made a mural for carnival. I felt god because I like painting and drawing. Right now I’m drawing comics. My characters are dancing pencils. Maybe you’ll see my comic books one day.

...I also liked when Ms. Calica showed me how to take pictures of our projects.

When I used the camera I felt excited because at home I don’t really use my camera a lot. I learned how to control the camera. Making nichos for Dia de Los Muertos was fun too. Teaching other kids how to use the cameras was fun also. Now I know how teachers teach.

What I learned about being a peer helper, when you teach your classmates how to use camera it gets frustrating because sometimes the boys don’t listen. What I learned is how teachers feel when students don’t listen. Also you must know not to drop a camera because it will break and you will have to pay more than 500 dollars.

What you have to know is how to handle a camera you need to press the button for about 5 seconds. If you don’t it will not take the picture and maybe you will get frustrated. Also have you known about “sepia” it makes the picture look cool because it was tanned colored. Also black and white made it look like the 50’s.

I liked being a peer helper because you could take a lot of pictures and putting it in the web.

We did a lot in art class this year. When I used a camera I learned how to use the camera. I was excited to use the camera. Making the nichos for Dia de los Muertos was fun. We also used the computer in art class. It was fun when we were drawing. It makes me feel creative. I really like doing pastels. It was so fun. You could do free drawings. Last year we painted a mural for carnaval. When we drew people that wore bird clothing it was fun. It was frustrating when you draw something and you couldn’t save it because our computers weren’t working. So it erased and we had to start all over. I would rather make art with paint and pastels than with computers. Making nichos for Dia de Los Muertos was fun and cool.

What I learned in art was how to draw pictures in value and how to use different shapes to make them beautiful. I have been very successful in art. I use many different kinds of art and have done great doing them. Ms. Calica has taught me enough to become a professional artist. Art is fabulous. At the end of the day I love to just get in my bed and draw. It’s a lovely thing to do. My friends and family encourage me to continue art in the art department but I don’t know. It’s something I’ll decide later. I love art though.

When it was my turn to use the cameras I took a picture of my Jordan shoes because it had borders. Also because we went all the way to the fifth grade yard. I learned how to delete some of my pictures that I took.

My favorite element is color and lines because it is so fun and exciting and if you are so happy if you do color and lines.

I learned that patterns can come in all shapes and sizes and there are different colors. I used a digital camera to take pictures. I learned what composition meant. My art teacher told me what it meant. I took a picture of a shoe pattern it was very easy to use the digital camera.

When I used digital photography it was fun because we learned patterns with beautiful pictures. I liked my striped shirt the best.

When I used Adobe Photoshop I learned that you could change pictures into drawings.

When I used digital photography I learned that it was easy to photograph patterns. I like the diamond one because they are so small and they remind me of jewelry.

Using adobe Photoshop was so much fun that I didn’t know that I could even do that, especially on the computer. Not only that, but all the stuff that you get to learn, like the special features. My favorite part was how you could put a drawing as the background and then draw on the top. It was amazing. Also it was fun to be able to sit with someone and be able to help each other, which was so cool. When I got to use digital cameras it was cool too. You should try it too!

When I used digital art with Adobe Photoshop I learned that its very amazing making digital art with the mouse and with the Adobe Photoshop tools, I have made many pieces of art so it has been kind of easy. I saved just one art piece and it was my best in Adobe Photoshop. It had a desert background and my name in many letters with a cloud outline. It was very amazing time working with Adobe Photoshop.

I learned that art is not just something to color, it is how you feel and what you want to draw and I learned how to use a computer by drawing so, I learned techniques on computers.

When I did Nichos it was fun. I learned making the nichos for the Dia de Los Muertos was for the people who passed away. I would rather make art with decoration and things like toys, food, and a lot more. So I think making nichos is cool.

What I learned is to color much better with pastel. Also I liked when I did some cool drawings and I liked when I colored it nice and also when we had new things so we can use it.

What I’ve learned about photography is that sometimes it’s hard and sometimes it can be easy but for me it was very easy but the hard part was when the camera kept turning off.

When I used the cameras I learned that patterns are everywhere. Using black and white was pretty cool; it made it look like an old movie. Using sepia made it look like an ancient picture. When I was teaching people how to use the camera they got it at first but later they never got how to review or delete photos so I showed them. Using digital photography was awesome.

Making the Nichos for Dia de los Muertos was touching. Sometimes when you do something remembering the dead it is sad. But I learned a lot of things about my relatives. I like making Nichos.

What I learned about being a peer helper is that sometimes you can get really frustrated. You absolutely, positively need to have patience. Sometimes there is a malfunction in the digital camera, which leads to frustration. Now I know how teachers feel. They don’t listen, pay attention, or try to get it what they’re doing.

What you need to know about handling a camera is make sure you don’t drop it. If you do you will pay. I’m speaking from experience. Make sure you actually take a picture and watch the lighting. Make sure you download the pictures for more memory.

What I liked about being a peer helper is that I love taking pictures. When I took a picture and saw the pattern it looked really cool. Using “sepia” mode made every picture look like a golden day. Using “black and white” made it look like a 50’s picture. Using a camera is pretty cool and it may surprise you what you’re taking a picture of.

When I used digital photography I learned that using a camera is not that easy because you have to learn how to delete the picture and more stuff that is hard. I didn’t realize how many patterns there were in the hallway. I saw more patterns at each end of the hallway. It was so cool because you can see all the art projects that the other kids did.
