About the art program

Hello, I am a ''Planning Time Arts Teacher'' working for the San Francisco Unified School District. There are art and music teachers in our program. Here's roughly how the program works. Each of our teams service one school on one day of the week for a total of five schools a week per team. Our job is to go into different elementary schools in teams of 2 or 3 in order to give 4th and 5th grade classroom teachers an opportunity to have a much needed common planning time. At the same time students, who otherwise would not get them, have some experience learning art and music. It is a wonderful program for everyone, including myself. I have the pleasure of teaching grades 4 and 5 when no other art program serves these grades. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to work with this wonderful age group.
